The Google Connection

We've all done it (haven't we?). "Googled" ourselves to see what could possibly be "out there" with our name on it. What strange, popular or bazaar worlds are we unwittingly connected to? Well thanks to the modern miracle of search engines, those weirdos out there sharing our names need no longer stay hidden from our view!

Typing "Atira" into the Google search engine will yield some pretty entertaining results. For a two year old, our little Atira has accomplished quite a bit out in the world! Here are a couple of "her" best sites, Enjoy!

The Atira Group - Creating Sustainable Luxury Spaces. You've got to check this Website out! I loved it, beautiful pictures, great business. Glad they share the name with Atira.

The Atira Card
- Investing in prepaid cards backed by VISA?

Atira The Beautiful Middle Eastern Dancer - My favorite! This reminds me of our Atira. Do you think she will dance like this when she grows up?

Atira's Fashions - Imported Middle Eastern wear.

Have YOU ever googled yourself? What came up? Any fun stories? I'd love to see some comments posted on this one!

said... I think the funniest result I got back when I Googled my name was a Youtube video of Anica Milenkovic...a Serbian Pop Singer? It is a riot!

Be sure to look for the guy in the leopard pants!

Would a rose spelled backwards smell as sweet?

On a baby name site today, Namipedia (never mind how I ended up there) and I found myself inadvertently having to defend my daughter's middle name which is Neveah (i.e., Heaven or rather, Haeven spelled backward). Little did I know that there is quite a controversy surrounding this little name. It seems that folks either LOVE it or HATE it. Since it's only recently risen to popularity, I didn't realize it had since become the subject of cynical jabs by snide, overtly opinionated bloggers (are there any other kind?) saying things like... " Heaven backwards--is that like naming your baby Hell?" (a funny blog, by the way). Or "If it's a boy, will it be Lleh? It has also been heralded as perhaps the most "stylistically divisive" name in America. Who knew? When we decided to give our daughter (who was born in 2006) the middle name Neveah, we had hearty approval from our friends and family, except one who asked me if that wasn't the name of a brand of lotion? Of course, she was referring to the beauty and body care product line: Nivea which I thought was quite amusing. Like it or not, it may make for a good conversation at your next baby shower :)
I wonder... has anyone come up with a skin care line called Aevin?
